Travel Consultant Saying Picture
The use of travel advisors has plummeted over the last decade as Expedia and other online booking tools became available to consumers. People felt confident booking with the click of the mouse. No more middle man- right! I want to share with you my journey and why having a trusted travel advisor in your back pocket is the right way navigate the choppy waters of booking travel.

Meet Me The Travel Guru

Let me introduce myself; my name is Susan Sherren, and I am the proud owner of -Couture Global Trips. I was an early adopter of VRBO and other online booking tools. I felt pretty empowered knowing I could book a fabulous vacation for my family anywhere in the world. Years ago, I had four small children under my feet and a busy husband knee-deep in his demanding career. The thought of getting in my car to drive to a travel agency location or spending more time on the phone just didn't appeal to me. So late at night, I became a stealth online travel bargain hunter. I prided myself on picking up great "deals" on my own. We took our children on fabulous trips all around the globe. I was giving out travel advice right and left to friends, neighbours and even strangers. Then in 2019, I decided to become a travel consultant.  Yes, I thought I knew it all when it came to travel since I was an early adopter and had successfully navigated the online maze of online travel booking.

What I found out through my new career training was shocking! Not only had I been wasting my precious time, but the "deals" came at a high price if you consider time a commodity. Most people spend around 30 hours planning a vacation. Yes, 30 hours! If you have a reasonably well paying job, you see what I am getting at. You may actually be losing money, and you're not getting the best "deals".

Now I confidently book travel, knowing I am getting the best of the best for my clients. They usually can receive upgrades and little perks like complimentary breakfast. Not only that, I am getting updated on the latest and greatest in travel from people all over the world. Yes, travel advisors have a vast network of suppliers and the most current pulse on travel complexities. Yes, the dreaded "P" word has put a dent in our clients' travel plans   but now more than ever, you shouldn't go it alone. Take it from me you're wasting your time, and this is coming from a recovered Expedia addict plus your not getting any customer service- yep, zero.  I had one horrific incident at Barcelona's El Prat Airport trying to navigate Expedia's customer service call centre after a 12 hours flight- not fun! I would have rathered called my friend and my trusted advisor who understood my itinerary completely than tangle with a complete stranger.

The Tide Is Turning

Yes, the pandemic has changed one thing, people are flocking to travel advisors. According to ASTA's recent stats, the use of travel agents by consumers of travel is on the move, and that means up! Good news: After the pandemic is over, nearly half of travellers (44 percent) say they are more likely to use a travel advisor. Not surprisingly, almost all travellers (94 percent) who always/often used a travel advisor before the pandemic are likely to use one after the pandemic. Among those who sometimes or rarely used a travel advisor pre-pandemic, 44 per cent are likely to use one after the pandemic. People are wising up to the fact that they might actually value customer service.

Travel Complexities

Nowadays, it's a must to be an insured traveller. Not only that, but if you are leaving the U.S., your health insurance is useless. France and now Italy have just implemented the Travel Health Pass. So now things are starting to get a bit wild out there. The latest shock was it's taking 4-6 months to get your passport renewed. Travel consultants have some tricks up their sleeves when it comes to helping their clients navigate these choppy waters.   Once you leave your home, make sure you are armed with the latest and greatest in travel. Our clients travel with our Pocket Travel App; they can contact us with the push of a button. Yes, we're on alert every time one of our clients leaves their home and heads out on their well-deserved break from their hectic lives. Give us ring and learn about some amazing destinations! We craft each vacation based upon your needs that's why we are the leader in bespoke travel design.

Today France's Parliament approved new legislation that is aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19 and other COVID variants.  Individuals will now be required to have a  special virus pass for all restaurants and domestic travel. The new law also mandates vaccinations for all health workers starting September 15th . Approximately, 111,000 people with the virus have died in France, which is registering about 20,000 new infections daily compared to just a few thousand earlier this month. These efforts initially applies to all adults, but will apply to everyone 12 and older starting September 30.

Macron called for national unity and cooperation in an effort to fight the virus. Reports of protests have surfaced related to the mandate.
Macron also stated "What is your freedom worth if you say to me 'I don't want to be vaccinated', but tomorrow you infect your father, your mother or myself?" He reiterated,"people are free to express themselves in a calm and respectful manner", he said," demonstrations won't make the coronavirus go away". He condemned "people who are in the business of irrational, sometimes cynical, manipulative mobilisation."

In order to access the pass, individuals must have proof they are fully vaccinated, recently tested negative or recently recovered from the virus. Paper or digital documents will be accepted. The legislation will also outline how to handle vaccination documents from other countries.

How Can Americans Obtain the Health Pass or Le Pass Sanitaire- ?
American vaccination cards do not have QR codes that will allow a non-EU traveler to upload their documents into the French system. You can present your vaccination cards to a French physicians who can then upload your vaccination, COVID-19 test or other proof of illness documents into their system which will allow the generation of the appropriate QR code.

The U.S. Embassy in Paris has posted this statement on their website-
  • As of July 21, the French government has not provided official information on obtaining a health pass for people vaccinated outside the European Union.  While some people have been able to have their information entered into the French system by a French doctor or pharmacist, others have been told this is not possible. At this time, the Embassy is not aware of the extent to which it is still possible to have the U.S. information entered into the French system.  We will update this website when we have additional information.

Locations Where the Health Pass is Required

Andalucia

There is no doubt that Sevilla, Spain, is the crown jewel of the Andalucían region of southern Spain. The region once dominated by the Moors from the 8th- 15th centuries offers incredible vacation and holiday opportunities. The area is easily accessible by train from Madrid. You could include a few stops along the way before your reach Marbella and Ronda. Only an hour apart by car, these two cities offer two distinct and different vacation activities and sites. You're combining the best of the beach atmosphere and mountains of the Serranía de Ronda (Ronda Mountain Range) and the Sierra de las Nieves (Snow Mountain Range) Natural Park.

Ronda

Positioned on a plateau overlooking a cliff makes Ronda's location a dramatic one is a town in the Spanish province of Málaga. It is located about 105 km (65 mi) west of the city of Málaga, within the autonomous community of Andalusia. Its population is approximately 35,000 inhabitants. Know for its dramatic landscape, bullfighting, and outdoor recreational opportunities make it a unique and desirable location for a holiday. There are a variety of accommodations available, from beautiful villas in the countryside to glam hotels. The surrounding countryside is spectacular. The jagged mountain terrain is made up of weathered limestone and is the backdrop to ancient groves of olives, and eagles love to soar high above.

The bandoleros used this dramatic landscape to evade capture. Ronda is famous worldwide for its panoramic views and the bridge that straddles the extraordinary gorge that divides the town. Its mansion houses, quaint narrow streets, museums, and Spain's oldest bullring are well worth visiting. The surrounding countryside is perfect for hiking, cycling and exploring. Roman ruins and picturesque whitewashed villages dot the landscape.

One popular bike route is Ronda to Arriate. It is one of the best ways to immerse yourself in the untamed beauty of the Serrania de Ronda (as the countryside around the town is called) is by cycling out to the charming whitewashed villages surrounding Ronda itself. One of these is Arriate, which lies 7 km (4 miles) to the north and can be reached by an undemanding road ride of about half an hour.

Visit the ancient district of Marbella; Marbella Old Town dates back to the 15th century, right after the Christian Reconquista. Featuring typical Andalusian houses flowing with fresh flowers on the balconies, historic buildings and a great selection of restaurants and small boutiques, the Old Town offers something to see. Marbella Old Town has a warm and laid back atmosphere.

Beach offers opportunities to enhance your tan, and people watch. Try eating some delicious paella in the old town. Check out the following restaurants if you want to sample some of the best paella - Tempora Restaurant on Calle Tetuán, Restaurante El Cortijo on Calle Remedios and El Patio De Mariscal on Calle Virgen de los Dolores.

HOneymoon planning made simple

Everyone wants their honeymoon memories to last a lifetime. But while planning a dream wedding, the honeymoon can often play second fiddle to the ceremony. There are a few smart strategic moves you can make now to ensure your honeymoon dreams come true. A perfectly planned honeymoon is a great way to lay the framework for your life together. These few days or weeks can cap off all the work it took to get to this point. You want to carefully and strategically plan so these precious days are ones that you will forever remember.
Tulum, Mexico Honeymoon Picture
Tulum, Mexico Honeymoon Destination

  • Dates- determine how long you will honeymoon? Is it going to be a mini-moon, or are you splashing out on a multi-week excursion? If you're travelling to highly sought after locations, then book early.
  • Time of Year- be aware of what season it is in the location you are travelling to. For example, if you want to avoid crowds- then major European cities in the summer will likely be crowded with tourists. If the Caribbean is on your list, then be aware that June- October is hurricane season.
  • Budget- start your marriage off on the right foot by consulting with each other on an appropriate budget. Money troubles can place a strain on new marriages. Don't have unrealistic expectations in relation to your income. Discuss this before making any plans. Decide how much the wedding ceremony will be, and then don't forget your honeymoon budget. Both expenditures should be balanced out to match your financial situation. You can have a wonderful honeymoon without breaking the bank!
  • Plan Together- you don't want to burden one person in the relationship. Planning jointly alleviates mind reading and potential conflict. You can designate one person to engage with the travel advisor, or maybe this will be 50/50 all the way. Voice your concerns and desires early on, so the itinerary is something you both are looking forward to.
  • Destinations-if, you both are sentimental and foresee visiting your honeymoon destination on special anniversaries, then pick a tried and true destination and accommodation. You'll also have to decide if you're going for an all-inclusive cruise or land/air combo. It might be you opt for a glam camping honeymoon. The skies are the limit. You can be very creative and leave your mark as a couple on your days away.
  • Consult with a Travel Advisor- travel consultants are the pros when it comes to leaving your home. They can often make recommendations based on their experience and the feedback from other honeymooning couples. What you read online might not be the fact when it comes to what will work for you. They often think outside the box and look at the honeymoon from a variety of viewpoints. Their vast affiliations and networks will ensure you are getting the best upgrades and add ons. Don't forget travel pros can add in a bit of magic to make sure your trip is unforgettable.
  • Stay Realistic- getting married is a stress producer. You are most likely going to be exhausted after the big day. Make the honeymoon as stress-free and chill as possible. While you might be outdoorsy, this might not be the right trip to climb Kilimanjaro. If you stay within a reasonable budget, plan well together, you will be heading down the right path. Trying to imitate an Instagram honeymoon will often lead to disappointment and frustration. Make these days reflect who the both of you are. Fantasy is just that- fantasy, and that doesn't mean you can't have a dreamy honeymoon.
  • Surprise your Spouse- try to add in a few memorable moments to surprise your beloved. You know what makes them tick. Whether it's a romantic meal on the beach or a small gift that means something special to her. Great marriages are built by being considerate and thinking of your best buddy first.

Picture

  • Turn off Technology- limit your time on social media while you're enjoying your honeymoon. It's OK to take pictures, but being constantly engaged with social media is not a great start out your new life together. This time together is for the two of you, not the whole world. Life is so hectic and stressful that you want to tune into each other. Think of these days as a precious gift. You can share with your friends and family after you return home.
  • Loose Ends- designate someone in your family or a close friend to be in charge of the wedding aftermath. You don't want to be fielding calls about table rentals and tablecloths. That's what groomsmen and bridesmaids are for.
  • Pre-Packing Checklist- you don't want to be scrambling for your passport the night before you getting married. Plan to pack and shop well in advance of your ceremony. Get all of your documents in order. During the era of COVID-19, you need to know what the rules and restrictions are.
  • Travel Insurance- is a must when planning travel these days. You will be protecting your investment and you will be gaining  peace of mind in case of an illness or unforseen event.
  • Couture Trips offers honeymoon planning services. Visit Couture Trips to schedule a complimentary honeymoon planning consultation. We make sure your time together is well planned and ticks all the boxes.

Why Should I Visit Annecy,France?

The scenery is fabulous, plus if you love the charming canals of Venice, you will find yourself in a splendid spot. Located in the Haute-Savoie region of France, you will find activities year-round.
The area abounds in historical sites as well. Originally a Roman site in the 1st Century AD, Annecy has a long history linked to the city's strategic position on the route between Geneva and Italy. Annecy developed its nickname "Rome of the Alps" due to its role in the Counter-Reformation. The area is super scenic and loaded with quaintness. You'll find lots to do in this postcard-worthy town.

Best Points of Interest and Activities
  1. Lake Annecy- Yes, Lake Annecy is the central player and one of the most photographed areas. The crystal clear waters, beach and mountain backdrop will leave you breathless. Plan to take a walk from Paquier and stroll along till you reach the Jardin de l'Europe (Gardens of Europe). You will pass by the Pont des Amours (lover's bridge) like the one in Paris; it has lovers locks secured to it. Stop here for a brief kiss if you're with the one you love! If you are a cycling fan, then opt to take the 42 km bike path around the lake. Nautical activities like motorboating, pedal boating and wakeboarding are also possible. Libellule offers dining options on the lake so take your lunch on the beautiful scenic boat cruise.

Annecy Old Town-"Venice of the Alps"

  1. Old Town- Annecy would not be Annecy without its famous old town and central canal, thus the nickname the Venice of the Alps. Wander the cobbled streets and stroll along the Louis-Lachenal promenade. There are various restaurants and don't forget to sample some delicious Haute-Savoie cold cuts and cheese. If you find yourself in Annecy on a Tuesday, Friday or Saturday morning, you will want to meander around the old town marketplace and sample the local fruits and veggies. If you have a sweet tooth, you will want to pop by - Le Glacier des Alpes a delicious ice cream shop that has been around since 1966.

  • Hiking- You will be stunned by the natural surroundings, so you will want to pack your hiking boots. The most leisurely hike around Annecy is the  Le Semnoz route.  LeSemnoz is a ski resort on the Bauges pre-Alps mountain range, overlooking Lake Annecy. This mountain ski resort area is a beautiful viewpoint to take pictures of the lake. On this 3.3 mile hike, you can wander beautiful mountain pastures and take in the clean air of the Alps. Mountain biking options are also available at the Semnoz location.

  • How to Visit Annecy- We can design a perfect getaway to Annecy for you. There are a variety of accommodations and itineraries that we can customize. Plus, there are many nearby locations such as Geneva and Chamonix that make this area of the Haute-Savoie worth a visit.

Venice, Italy says "No" to Cruise ships

Grand Canal Venice Italy
Grand Canal- Channel Venice, Italy

Today marks a long-awaited day in Venice, Italy. Finally, after years of debate, the Italian government bans large cruise ships from entering the fragile lagoon in Venice. Local Venetians applauded this announcement, and environmentalists who have been sounding the alarms also celebrated for years. Venice is a highly sought after destination by many tourists who arrive in the city by a cruise ship. Approximately 25 million tourists descend on Venice annually. Italian Culture Minister Dario Franceschini called this a "historic day". Franceschini added, the government decided to act fast “to avoid the concrete risk” that the United Nations culture agency UNESCO, which protects the fragile city and its lagoon, would add Venice to its list of “world heritage in danger.”

View of Lagoon from St. Marks Square Venice Italy
View from St. Marks Square
“It is a decision awaited by UNESCO, by all the people who have been to Venice at least once in their lives, by Italian and foreign travellers who were shocked to see these ships passing through the most fragile and beautiful places in the world,” Franceschini told reporters.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many locals were stunned to see clear water and sea life thriving in the lagoon. The water is usually murky and void of sea animals due to the pollutants from various ships and watercraft activity in the lagoon. The cruise ships will be rerouted to the mainland port of Marghera, where five docks are being constructed. Ships weighing more than 25,000 tons, longer than 590 feet will be affected by the ban. How Can You Reduce Plastic usage while your traveling

Plastic Cup On Airplane Picture

My Trip

I had an awakening on a flight from Dallas to Hong Kong several years ago. The connecting flight was thru Los Angeles International. During the Dallas to Los Angeles segment, the flight attendants served the passengers a complimentary beverage and snack. I didn't think much of this standard service until I saw the large trash bag full of all those plastic cups and water bottles. It got my mind thinking about how many plastic cups are tossed on flights around the globe daily. Airline cabin waste is contributing to the environmental crisis. Often we focus on the jet fuel and emissions as the culprit, but what goes on inside the aircraft is just as startling.

Delta Airlines Mask and Handsanitizer KitPicture
Drowning in Cabin Plastic

A byproduct of our love of travel is the vast amount of plastic waste that we generate. Everything we encounter in-flight, from the meal service, blankets and headphones wrapped is plastic laden. Most recently, Delta’s mask and hand sanitiser packets were plastic wrapped, an unnecessary move. “That’s the upsetting part about flying,” Megan Epler Wood, director of the International Sustainable Tourism Initiative at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health, told the Huffington Post, “They’re just throwing everything into one bag. And there’s no effort to separate, which means you know they’re not recycling because they can’t. Once the plastic or anything else becomes contaminated, it can’t be recycled.” The airlines have been slow to transition to a less plastic infested philosophy.
So how can a traveller take more responsibility for the volume of trash they generate circling the planet.
  • First, embrace the concept of ‘Modern Travel’, which focuses on health, sustainability, beauty and confidence.
  • Secondly, focus on pre-travel preparation and how you can reduce travel waste even before you board the plane. For example, can you eat ahead of your scheduled flight and forego the plastic wrapped meal? Or try packing your own healthy snack in a reusable container.
  • Thirdly, promote eco-friendly travel by sharing your tips and tricks with your friends and family.

How much water should I drink while I am flying?

7/10/2021

HYDRATION

First, let's cover what conditions you will be encountering while your flying to paradise. Without a doubt, you will notice how dry the air in the plane seems. The humidity in-flight can be less than the Sahara Desert at around 15-20 percent. If your flying on the Dreamliner 787 or the Airbus A350 it is closer to 25 percent. So, staying hydrated is one of the most important things you can do. It's not a bad idea to hydrate with some fluids while you're waiting to board your flight. You also will want to keep drinking fluids as your flying, especially if your traveling longer than a couple of hours.

The
Aerospace Medical Association recommends approximately 8 oz. for every hour your in-flight. Yes, this will force you to use the restroom a bit, but that is also good because you will be getting out of your seat and moving. One of the highest risk factors for developing a blood clot is immobility. So stretch those legs and use the restroom frequently.
According to the
 Institute of Altitude Medicine,
"Staying hydrated is important at altitude. In reality, you only need an additional litre to a litre and a half of water at altitude. Too much water is harmful and can dilute your body's sodium level (hyponatremia), causing weakness, confusion, seizures, and coma. A good rule of thumb to assess for hydration is to check your urine. Clear urine indicates adequate hydration; dark urine suggests dehydration and the need to drink more water."

ALCOHOL, TEA, COFFEE and CAFFEINE

Unfortunately, your in-flight cocktail can contribute to dehydration. Alcohol is a diuretic and can signal your body to release more fluids. If your drinking alcohol make sure to drink a bit more water to compensate. Tea, coffee and caffeinated drinks also cause you to lose fluids.

SIGNS OF DEHYDRATION

  • feeling thirsty.
  • dark yellow and strong-smelling pee.
  • feeling dizzy or lightheaded.
  • feeling tired.
  • a dry mouth, lips and eyes.

These symptoms can masquerade as jet lag, but if you've been drinking enough, it is likely the time zone changes related to flying. This condition is especially noticeable on long international flights.

Make sure to take along a water bottle, preferably a non-plastic one, while your flying. This tip gives you more control over how much liquid you can consume. A collapsible container (25 oz.) is included in our Couture Trips In-Flight Essentials Kit. You can fill this up in the boarding area and be sipping while you're flying along. It comes with a convenient flip-top that eliminates the need for a straw. So drink up and make sure to stay hydrated as your flying to your next great adventure.

Just because your away from home doesn’t mean you can toss out all the things your mother taught you. Nowadays we are hearing about more and more incidences where travellers just lose it. We will give you a few tips on how to shine while you are out and about.
  • Say please and thank you. Many service people are stressed and could use a nice little reply now and again. If you really love their service, make sure to compliment them.
  • Plan ahead and don't expect others to accommodate your late arrival. It would be best if you were at the airport 2-3 hours ahead of time these days. Have all your travel documents ready and available so you don't hold up the line.
  • Wear your mask as directed in public spaces, especially when you're in-flight. These days, it isn't polite to expect the flight attendant to remind you to put on your mask constantly. Plus you won't be so popular with your seatmates.
  • Wait your turn. Nothing is more annoying than someone jumping the line. These days there are lots of hoops you have to jump through when your travelling. Whether you're disembarking from the aircraft or waiting in the TSA security line, just be patient.
  • Don't hog the overhead bins. Nothing is more annoying than seeing passengers stuff the overhead bins full. Place your luggage, so it fits in the overhead bin space properly. If you can, especially tall travellers- help out your fellow travellers by placing their luggage in the overhead bin or assist them by removing the bags on arrival, give them a hand.
  • Keep your phone conversations private. Nothing is more annoying than hearing how your seatmates kid is doing while you're sitting there waiting to disembark. If you must make a call, keep your voice down!
  • Greet your fellow passengers with a kind hello, or how are you doing, sitting down with your earbuds in and acting as if your the only person on the planet is, yes, rude.
  • Eat appropriately during meal service time. Just because your away from home doesn't mean you can chew with your mouth open or talk with a mouth full of food. Have some decorum when eating. Place your napkin in your lap, don't belch and try taking small bites
  • Show respect for the culture you are engaging. Before travelling, learn a bit about the place, the people and how things are done there. It might surprise you how far this will take you. Merci goes a long way with the French!
  • Dress appropriately for the flight. No, pyjamas aren't a good idea, even though they might be super comfortable. You also aren't at the gym so leave the leggings behind. Have a few go-to outfits in your closet that are comfortable but also stylish. It is also a good idea to wear closed-toed shoes and avoid sandals in case of an emergency or you have to run to your next gate!
  • Gentlemen, please show us ladies some respect by opening or holding doors etc. I may be old-fashioned, but when a man is acting civilized, it goes a long way. Plus, you never know who is looking and scoring your behaviour. Put your best self out there!
  • Be respectful of others personal space and practice social distancing.

Now is the time to do a little self-evaluation on where you stand with your travel etiquette. No one is perfect, and we aren't suggesting perfection in how you conduct yourself while you are on the go. If we all take these suggestions to heart, the travel experience could be a joyful one for all of us, even if we have to endure endless lines, flight cancellations and grumpy flight attendants. We can rise above this, keep ourselves in check, and look forward to a beautiful and restful vacation.

There is nothing like wandering the streets of Madrid. The European flair and abundance of world class sites make it a perfect place to spend a week or more. In the pre-COVID realm, Madrid welcomed 8 million tourists a year. According to Statista, "The annual number of international tourists visiting the Community of Madrid in Spain in 2020 was 1.71 million, representing a decrease of almost 6 million fewer visits than in the previous year. In 2019 around 7.64 million international visitors arrived in the Community of Madrid, which represents an increase of over three million more visits than in 2008." This massive decrease in tourism is impacting businesses in Madrid that rely on tourism for their livelihoods. Currently, Spain is welcoming travellers back to the country, but you will most likely need to be vaccinated.

EU Countries Participating in the Green Pass App
European Union Countries Participating in the Green Pass App Program
The European Union rolled out their "Green Pass smartphone App on July 1st, 2021. The overall goal is to streamlines travel and diminish the number of minutes travellers will stand in lines presenting their COVID related documents.
Participants include the 27 EU member states as well as Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. The U.S. has yet to establish a universal app like the EU one for its citizens. The vaccine and health passport concept still is a hotly debated topic. However, if you desire to jump over the Atlantic pond, you will have to show proof of prior illness and have signed documents from your physician, be vaccinated or present a negative PCR Covid test. The CDC is still reluctant to endorse travel to Europe this summer and currently has rated the EU a three on its risk scale.

"We need to reconnect people and societies safely," said Ivan Bassato, the chief aviation officer for Rome's airports. "People don't travel only for holidays. They travel to meet parents that they haven't seen in more than a year. During a pandemic, we need to ensure as an industry that it's done safely."The Green Pass, said Bassato, "is a very smart, safe tool to ensure that these conditions are observed."

The Green Pass is a safe way to store your documents while your travelling throughout the EU and, at some point, will be used as a ticket into concert venues, museums and stadiums.

The Green Pass App is not mandatory, and the information you provide is not invasive. It is the same information you would give that is located on your vaccine card or passport. We recommend that you carry several hard copies of the required documentation if your phone becomes non-functional or stolen while abroad. It is also a good idea to leave a copy with a friend or family member at home. The App streamlines the whole process and eliminates the need for documents in other languages to be translated. Passengers can now use the smartphone App to show they've been vaccinated, tested negative, or recovered from the virus before they board.

The European Medicine Agency, four vaccines approved:
  • Comirnaty (BioNTech, Pfizer)
  • Moderna
  • Vaxzevria (previously COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca, Oxford)
  • Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)

Tips:
  • Check with your destination country's website for specific entry requirements prior to making travel plans.
  • Make hard copies of all COVID related documents- vaccine, proof of negative test and documentation of prior illness.
  • Leave a set of documents. at home with a family member of friend.
  • Purchase travel insurance incase your trip is interrupted due to COVID (illness or border closures).
  • Keep informed on COVID variants and how they have affected your destination and country of origin.
  • Arrive at airport or train terminals and hour earlier than recommended.
  • Make sure your connecting flight times allow for additional procedures- like presenting documents or App verifications.
  • Stay flexible.
  • Limited your travel between EU countries this summer. These regulation and procedures are new and may cause delays or cancellations.

To Do Before Traveling:
  • Visit the EU Green Pass site prior to enrolling.
  • Download the App on Google Play

Key features of the certificate:
  • Digital and/or paper format
  •  QR code
  • free of charge
  • in national language and English
  • safe and secure
  • valid in all EU countries

We look forward to sending our clients back to Europe this summer and beyond. But each passenger must be aware of the risks and benefits of traveling in this new uncharted post COVID environment. The Top three best natural beaches on the island of mallorca

If you're looking for more of a chilled-out back to nature beach vibe but want to explore the Balearic Islands, then skip the party atmosphere of Ibiza. Consider heading over to Mallorca, the more laid-back sister island. The island is full of quaint inlets brimming with sandy shores and turquoise waters. If you're considering writing a novel or want to read a great book-let your mind sink into the nature-filled peaceful atmosphere found at these natural beaches. May is a great time to explore these coves, inlets and beaches, plus you find fewer crowds than the summer season starting in June. We have selected our top three picks for the best natural beaches on the island of Mallorca.

Cala Formentor
Located in the northeastern part of the Mallorca peninsula, this beach 1 kilometre long has soft, fine sand and is surrounded by woods and the Tramontana Mountains. It lies in the Bay of Pollença on the south side of the peninsula of Formentor. There are incredible vistas for snapping some Instagram worthy photos. You'll enjoy clear shallow waters, a perfect spot for children. Also, there is a lifeguard on duty, but beware you'll want to arrive early if your vacation is in July and August; the beach can become quite crowded. Consider this beach one of the best natural beaches on the island.

 Cala Torta
This little gem is the locals secret located on the northeastern side of the island. There are no hotels nearby, and the road to access the beach can be a bit dicey. However, you will be richly rewarded with stunning turquoise blue waters and powdery white sand. Just a word of warning- because of the location, there can be northerly winds that create undertows and waves. Also, the water can suddenly become deep, so watch your little ones if you choose to frolic at this location. There are few services and one restaurant/beach bar. Snorkelling is possible here among the rocky inlets so bring your gear.

Calo des Mora
The beach, positioned in the southeast corner of the island, this unique beach is surrounded by rocky cliffs deep in a bay. A top spot for locals, but the word has now spread about this gorgeous natural beach. You won't find any high rises or partying going on here. The clear, calm waters are perfect for children, but you will want to arrive early in the day to secure a spot on the small sandy shore. You will be climbing down some steep stairs to access to the beach, so wear some suitable footwear. There are no services here, so pack accordingly.

All You Need to Know when Traveling to Nice, France. yes, it is a nice Place!

How to Get There
Traveling to Nice, France, is quite convenient. The Nice Airport, officially known as Côte d’Azur Airport, is the main gateway to Nice and the French Riviera or regionally known as the Côte d’Azur in France and the Principality of Monaco. The airport is just a short distance from the city itself- 4 miles southwest of the town. Ground transportation is easy to access, and helicopter service is available to nearby Monaco. The airport handled over 18 million travellers in 2018.
The Nice Train Station (Gare de Nice-Ville) is another option to access the Cote d’ Azur. Train service is quite plentifully from many French cities. The station is quite near the town centre. It was initially built away from the city centre; however, the modern city has populated around the station, making it part of the town centre. The station building can be found in its original condition. Richly decorated balconies and a grand clock are worth taking note of while your in this impressive train station.

 Accommodations
Nice has a multitude of accommodations, from luxury villas to 5-star hotels. You’ll likely want a view of the Med, so plan accordingly. We recommend the following regional luxury properties: Hotel Le Negresco, Chateau St. Martin and Spa, Hotel La Perouse, Hotel Royal Riviera, La Palais de la Mediterranee, Grand Hotel Du Cap- Ferrat, Cap Estel Hotel, Boscolo Exedra Nice, Chateau De La Chèvre d’Or and Chateau Eza.

What to See and Do
There is plenty of sightseeing in the area, let’s put it this way you can be as busy as you want to be. We will share with you our top sites to put on your to do list- Musee Matisse,  Palais Lascaris, Musee d’ Art Contemporain, Cathedrale-Ste-Reparate, Musee Chagall, Cathedrale Orthodoxe Russe St Nicholas, Musee des Arts Asiatiques. Make sure to plan a stop at the historic Hotel Negresco for a drink, lunch or dinner.
The biggest attraction is the most obvious one, the Promenade des Anglais, just take a seat in the blue seaside chairs of the Promenade and take in the azure skies and turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea. You can take a walk along this walkway from the airport on the west to the Quai des Etats-Unis on the east, roughly a 4-mile journey. If you planning to spend a day on the Med then you will want a reservation at Plage Beau Rivage Nice a private beach club along Nice’s Promenade de Anglais. Re̒gence Plage by Radisson Blu Nice is another beach club option. Take note- the the beach along Nice is a stony one, so pack some beach appropriate footwear.

Our Itineraries
Couture Trips has a several itineraries to choose from or we can craft one especially for you. We love to incorporate food tours, a day on the Med and a visit to some nearby spots such as the historic hilltop town of Èze. Rember, when you travel with us your trips is truly bespoke. Traveling without a consultant can be risky business

Dispelling  Myths
Travel has become more complex in the last year. Trip cancellations have been on the rise, and many travelers have curbed their desire to roam the globe. The pandemic has ravaged the travel industry. While many have flocked to Expedia and other do it yourself travel sites, is that really a good strategy in the current pandemic environment? What seems to be the resistance to partnering with an expert in the travel field? Well, let’s dispel some myths upfront.
Most people would not dare fix an electrical or plumbing issue themselves. So, why is it that travelers feel so inclined to go it alone when it comes to planning and booking travel? Well, let’s examine some facts, Expedia and other independent booking engines have their place. But if you desire five-star customer service, these platforms might not be for you. Yes, their discounts can be beneficial, but you pay for what you get, as the old adage states. Often your travel advisor can match these prices but add in a bit of actual customer care and service. Computer generated travel planning/purchasing is often quite sterile and void of any real service. Basically, it's a click and pay type of dance.
Travel Agents are passionate about travelPicture
Travel Experts, Yes We Are The Experts
On the other hand, travel consultants are obsessed with customer service and are passionate about all things related to travel. I know travel advisors who will virtually follow their clients throughout their journey- making phone calls, emailing suppliers and double-checking their client’s itinerary, so their experience is a flawless and seamless one. You might even be surprised to find a  welcome gift awaiting you at your destination. Yes, we love to dote on our clients too. Don’t forget that travel consultants are usually up to speed on the latest and greatest in travel. You won’t find yourself booked into a hotel that is being renovated or one that is past its prime. We like to book our clients into best rooms and ones preferably with a view- we love the best real estate available whether its a cruise ship or remote hotel. Plus, we can configure the most amazing itineraries that include restaurant booking or hard to get event tickets. Usually, good advisors will listen to their clients and plan accordingly. A quick tip- make sure your advisor is an ASTA (American Society of Travel Advisors) certified. Only travel with the best. ASTA has a stringent certification process to ensure your advisor is a pro.

 Insurance Decisions
The pandemic has muddied the travel waters. If anyone thinks baulking on travel insurance amid a pandemic is a good idea, then I have some swampland in Florida to sell you. It is a foolish idea to travel without travel insurance these days, especially if you are leaving the shores of the U.S. To make matters more complex- what kind of insurance do you need? What do the specific policies cover? Does my health insurance offer add-ons for out of the country itineraries? Yes, you can now see that this isn’t so straightforward.
A travel advisor has the tools to help you navigate these turbulent waters. Plus, you most likely will be able to ring them up night or day in the event of an emergency or a change in plans. Many discount platforms will keep you on hold for hours, not an excellent way to spend your precious vacation days. Just ask some of those individuals who were stuck in various countries trying to scramble home during the pandemic's border shut downs across the globe. Those with dedicated travel advisors fared much better and had a less stressful experience navigating the hairy experience of getting back home. Yes, travel advisors were up all hours- day and night advocating for their clients during this turbulent time period. We have your back and we work diligently for you.
Stress free travel with an consultant luxury travel
Will It Cost Me More?
The big question that looms in people’s minds is, will it cost me more? Well, that depends on your itinerary in most cases. If your advisor charges a planning fee, then you are paying for professional services. Yes, travel consultants are professionals. If you pop over to the dentist, yes, it isn’t free. But again, you pay for what you get. Most of the time, these planning fee schedules are nominal when compared to your overall vacation's bottom line costs. You might be surprised that your advisor will be able to add in complementary services or vouchers for additional perks that you would not of be able to access if you are doing it yourself.  If you value your time away from the office and your family obligations, then paying a few dollars to a professional makes sense. If you want to travel with a lifeline and need a less stressful experience, then ring us up and don’t go it alone even if it appears your saving a few bucks; in most cases, you’re not. Couture Trips has dedicated travel advisors waiting to work for you anytime and yes that means night or day. Visit www.CoutureTrips.com to schedule a free complimentary consultation.
