It has all the right elements- charming, quaint with lots of shopping and dining options. You could also spend a few days meandering around the city and then head to the fabulous English countryside. If you need beautiful and authentically Londonesque accommodations, the Goring Hotel in Belgravia fits the bill perfectly. This is London's last family-owned luxury hotel property. Perfectly manicured and incredibly authentic. It has garnered many awards because it has maintained its identity, and its staff is dedicated to service. Over a decade ago, Kate Middleton and her mother stepped through the doors of the Goring Hotel the night before Kate's big day. The Goring has also been a popular spot for the royalty and the famous over the years. ![]() Enjoy afternoon tea at the Goring or head over to the Ritz London to indulge in the iconic English atmosphere and quintessential scones and Tea. Both offer superb traditional English Tea in stunning locations. Near Belgravia, in Mayfair, you might want to pop over to Lock and Co. Hatters, the oldest hat shop in the world. We can pre-arrange a small tour of the shop with advance notice. The business has been up and running since 1676, and its reputation is unmatched. After you stop at Lock and Co., you can enjoy meandering around Mayfair and shop in some of the finest boutiques in the world. ![]() We like to recommend to our clients a day trip to Blenheim Palace followed by a stop in Bicester Village. The enormous palace is where Winston Churchill was born and is the seat of the Dukes of Marlborough. After the tour, enjoy lunch in a traditional English Pub in Woodstock, the nearby town. Our guide will then transport you and your daughter to Bicester Village, a designer outlet shopping area with 160 luxury boutiques to visit. The shopping is quite endless in London; if you want a one-stop area, then head over to Knightsbridge for a combination of large stores and boutique shops. We like to recommend for lunch, Sketch the Parlour in Mayfair; this trendy and so pink place is the perfect lunch stop for mom and daughter. If you want to enjoy and night out on the town, the theatre is always a great option or the English National Ballet housed in Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden. Traditional options abound in London as well. Taking in traditional stops such as the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace during the summer months, or Westminster Abbey are always great options. Our private guides and drivers know these destinations well. A must-stop for any mother-daughter duo is Highclere Castle, the fictional and so popular Downton Abbey site. Our private guide will pick you up and whisk you off to the countryside. Immerse yourself in Highclere's history, and descend the famous staircase clad in red velvet. London offers many cultural events as well. Depending on the time of year you visit, the Chelsea Flower Show, Trooping of the Color, London Fashion Week are just a few options in the plethora of London's activities and events. Planning and partnering with a reputable travel advisor is the right way to maximize your time in the city and surrounding areas.
