Andalucia

There is no doubt that Sevilla, Spain, is the crown jewel of the Andalucían region of southern Spain. The region once dominated by the Moors from the 8th- 15th centuries offers incredible vacation and holiday opportunities. The area is easily accessible by train from Madrid. You could include a few stops along the way before your reach Marbella and Ronda. Only an hour apart by car, these two cities offer two distinct and different vacation activities and sites. You're combining the best of the beach atmosphere and mountains of the Serranía de Ronda (Ronda Mountain Range) and the Sierra de las Nieves (Snow Mountain Range) Natural Park.

Ronda

Positioned on a plateau overlooking a cliff makes Ronda's location a dramatic one is a town in the Spanish province of Málaga. It is located about 105 km (65 mi) west of the city of Málaga, within the autonomous community of Andalusia. Its population is approximately 35,000 inhabitants. Know for its dramatic landscape, bullfighting, and outdoor recreational opportunities make it a unique and desirable location for a holiday. There are a variety of accommodations available, from beautiful villas in the countryside to glam hotels. The surrounding countryside is spectacular. The jagged mountain terrain is made up of weathered limestone and is the backdrop to ancient groves of olives, and eagles love to soar high above.

The bandoleros used this dramatic landscape to evade capture. Ronda is famous worldwide for its panoramic views and the bridge that straddles the extraordinary gorge that divides the town. Its mansion houses, quaint narrow streets, museums, and Spain's oldest bullring are well worth visiting. The surrounding countryside is perfect for hiking, cycling and exploring. Roman ruins and picturesque whitewashed villages dot the landscape.

One popular bike route is Ronda to Arriate. It is one of the best ways to immerse yourself in the untamed beauty of the Serrania de Ronda (as the countryside around the town is called) is by cycling out to the charming whitewashed villages surrounding Ronda itself. One of these is Arriate, which lies 7 km (4 miles) to the north and can be reached by an undemanding road ride of about half an hour.

marbella

The ultimate and glamorous Marbella won't disappoint. The area offer water activities on Bounty Beach, sample delicious tapas, visit historical buildings, and party until late in the cities clubs. Alternately, if you would like to slow it down a bit, you can just relax in the charming town squares and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere.. Plaza de los Naranjos is the center of Marbella Old Town. Visit the ancient district of Marbella; Marbella Old Town dates back to the 15th century, right after the Christian Reconquista. Featuring typical Andalusian houses flowing with fresh flowers on the balconies, historic buildings and a great selection of restaurants and small boutiques, the Old Town offers something to see. Marbella Old Town has a warm and laid back atmosphere.

Beach offers opportunities to enhance your tan, and people watch. Try eating some delicious paella in the old town. Check out the following restaurants if you want to sample some of the best paella - Tempora Restaurant on Calle Tetuán, Restaurante El Cortijo on Calle Remedios and El Patio De Mariscal on Calle Virgen de los Dolores.
